Ginn & Co. original illustration from "Around the Corner" early reader - 1950s vintage
Vintage hand painted illustration from the Ginn & Co. second reader, "Around the Corner." Used on page 206. Includes printing markups. Without copies of the book, we don't know which edition this was used in, the 1947 original or a later 1950s or 1960s version. Looks like it was done with gouache on illustration board.
Like all good illustrations, it gives absolute context to the story. You know exactly what the story is about without even seeing the text.

CONDITION Good. This has been kicking around for a number of years and it could use a gentle cleaning with an art eraser, perhaps.
