Artist A. M. McCarthy was a Massachusetts native who spend years as a scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Outside the laboratory, she was a skilled woodworker and wood turner as well as a talented artist. As if that weren't enough, she participated in obedience competitions with her pugs.
