Keeling and Co. Loster Ware yellow Shanghai centerpiece bowl - 1920s vintage chinoiserie
Vintage 1920s Keeling and Co. Loster Ware centerpiece bowl in the yellow version of the Shanghai pattern. Chinoiserie pedestal bowl with art deco pattern in black on the outside and Asian flowers and bird pattern on the inside. Band around the top and areas of the outside also have a blue wash, likely a nod to flow blue china which was popular at the time. Burslem pottery made in England.
The yellow is a lovely maize shade, somewhere between butter and canary.
SIZE 11 3/8" diameter, 4.5" tall
CONDITION Very good. There are some flaws in the making and a few utensil marks inside the bowl.
