Vintage metal soap shaker saver cage - 1940s vintage

Our grandmothers, who let nothing go to waste, saved their slivers of bar soap in these wire cages and swished it in the water for their hand laundry. It's still useful for that, but now you can also use it to swish your eco-friendly dish soap bars in hot water to create soapy water for washing. Cage hinges open to insert soap, then a simple ring on the handle holds it closed. A simple, ingenious design is suddenly modern!

SIZE 2 1/2 " x 3" x 1 3/4" D. Handle extends 6 3/4" from cage. Overall 9 1/2" long.

CONDITION Very good vintage condition. No rust. Minor discoloring on handle.
