Antique EAPG Rose in Snow Cake Stand - Campbell Jones & Co. c.1880s - Pressed Glass Pedestal Salver - Victorian Serving Piece
Couldn't load pickup availability
Rose in Snow is one of the most popular EAPG patterns, and this cake stand shows you why. Four full roses on stippled, frost-like ground, ruffled scalloped edge, plain tapered stem, rayed foot. The whole vibe is like a Victorian still life pressed into glass.
The pattern originated with Campbell, Jones & Co. of Pittsburgh around 1880, and continued into the 1890s under Bryce Brothers and then US Glass after the 1891 consolidation, so this piece dates somewhere in that window, most likely the 1880s given the weight and quality of the pressing.
Heavy. Substantial. The kind of glass that means it. Waves and straw marks in the glass are original to manufacture, not damage.
This pedestal is made to be used. Put a cake on it. Put donuts on it. It's been waiting 140 years for the opportunity.
