GDA Limoges scalloped edge rose serving plate - 1940s vintage
Pretty vintage 1940s plate by GDA (aka Gerard, Dufraissex and Abbot) in Limoges, France. White plate with a double scalloped border accented with gold. Wreath of roses around the edges. Imported and sold by Mellen and Hewes Co. of Hartford, CT, an importer and seller of fine china that specialized in wedding gifts.
This would be a lovely plate for serving tea sandwiches, scones or tiny fruit tarts. Even if you served untoasted Pop Tarts on it, it would still be elegant.
SIZE 11.5" diameter
CONDITION Very gently used. There are a couple of fine utensil marks in the center. Wear to the gold on the outside rim.
