Alice in Wonderland Caterpillar and Alice silkscreen with painted colors - 1970s vintage
Vintage 1970s silkscreen of the Caterpillar and Alice inspired by John Tenniel's original 1865 illustrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Black line silkscreen is on a sheet of oaktag, with hand painted gouache colors and background swashes. Silkscreen is mounted on a piece of foamcore board that is trimmed in such a way to make us think this might have been a student project. Unsigned. Wire hanger on the back
SIZE 19.5" x 25" tall
CONDITION Good. The oaktag paper has aged. The gouache colors are nice and bright. The corners are tatty, there are some paint spatters and smudges. That being said, it has a distinctive vintage charm. Ready to hang as is, but we can only imagine how sweet it would be trimmed and framed.
This is a vintage item. It has been used and loved and it has a history. Please examine photos carefully and ask questions, as we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
