Elizabeth Geisler signed buttocks basket - handmade artisan gathering basket - 2000s

Handwoven by well known Sarasota basket artist Elizabeth Geisler, this buttocks basket is woven with a variety of materials  and has a leather wrapped strap. Geisler's designs are inspired by the southern Appalachian mountain landscapes of her childhood. 

Known for her intricate Nantucket basket designs, Geisler's baskets are included in the permanent collection at the Michigan State Baskets of Heritage collection. Her work was also featured as part of a Smithsonian display at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
