Antique Chinese Brass Enamel Stamp Box - Circa 1900-1915 - Hinged Lid - Blue Green Landscape Figural Scene - Impressed China Mark - Edwardian Era Desktop Accessory

$42.00

Petite antique brass and enamel stamp box from the late Victorian to Edwardian era would make a dandy ring or trinket box on a vanity today. We date the box to approximately 1900–1915 based on the impressed "China" mark stamped directly into the brass base.

The exterior enamel is decorated in blues and greens with a touch of red. Hinged lid has a traditional Asian landscape scene of a temple and pagoda, and people with animals on the front and sides.

The curved interior is the hallmark of a purpose-built stamp box, specifically designed to cradle postage stamps and make them easy to retrieve with a fingertip. We think a very special ring would nestle in there for easy retrieval, too.

SIZE 1¾" W × 1⅜" D × 1⅜" H

CONDITION Very good with natural brass patina consistent with age. Enamel intact, no chips noted. Hinged lid opens and closes properly. A lovely example showing its age gracefully.

This is a vintage item. It has been used and loved and it has a history. Every attempt is made to describe it accurately, please examine photos carefully. We want you to love your box.
