Antique pale green opaline Bristol glass vase hand-painted in vivid enamels - blue and pink wildflowers on one side, and on the other, a gloriously detailed grasshopper that looks like it just landed there. The cylindrical shape has a gently stepped neck and footed base.
Bristol glass vases like this were a staple of Victorian and Edwardian parlors.

Condition: Very good. A few small fleabites at the rim. Gilt is worn around the top rim and on the grass motif on the reverse, consistent with age and honest use.
