Antique Victorian Opaline Glass Vase - Hand-Painted Pink Flowers and Gold Detail - Cottagecore Grandmillennial Decor
Antique Victorian opaline glass vase is hand-painted with a lush scene of rosy pink blooms, green foliage and a delicate trellis, with raised gold detailing. The neck and foot are banded in a rich, glossy jade green that fades softly into the creamy white body, a classic Victorian ombré effect.
Opaline glass was a hallmark of 19th-century decorative arts, prized for its milky translucency and the way it diffuses light. This piece has all the hallmarks of quality Victorian hand-painting: expressive brushwork, layered color and the raised gilt details that were a signature of the period. The form, a tall baluster shape with a flared collar rim, was typical for the period.
Size: 10.75" tall x 4.25" diameter
Condition: Glass is in very good condition, no chips, no cracks. There is one area of paint loss and some adhesive residue on the lower green banding, consistent with a piece of tape applied at some point in its past. This is located on the front of the vase and is visible in the photos. Please examine all images carefully before purchasing. There are also traces of what appears to be an original wooden base mounting, but the vase stands perfectly well on its own.
This is a vintage item. It has been used and loved and carries a history. Every effort is made to describe condition accurately. Please examine the photos carefully. We want you to love your find.
