Woven raffia or flax beach tote bag - made in Japan - 1960s vintage
Vintage 1960s tote bag made from ecru woven natural threads woven and mounted on a cardboard backer. Fine checked weaving with clusters green raffia embroidered branches and clusters of wooden yellow, red, brown and white berries. Whip stitched around the top and the base. Lined with white fabric, one small pocket just the right size for a cell phone. Open top. Braided handles made of fine threads.
Take it to the beach, book group, the lunch room or the sewing circle.

CONDITION Good. Some of the fine threads in the handles nave worn, there are a couple stains on the interior and the bottom is slightly used looking.
