Floral urn with figural gargoyle handles - vintage decorative ceramic
Decorative vintage ceramic urn with gargoyle handles. Pale yellow with sprayed on peach for one handle and light green on the base. Two large panicles of magenta and green flowers with leaves and a dragonfly. Small phlox-like flower on the back. Gold painted accents.
Marked "Austria," but it's actually not Austrian. This is one of those marks that was made in an Asian country and intentionally mis-marked to mislead buyers into thinking they were getting a fine piece of Austrian pottery. That said, it is highly decorative in its own right.
SIZE 10.5" tall
CONDITION Very good. No chips or cracks. Finely crazed all over. There are some marks and smudges from production as well as a few from use.
