Associated Fireman's Insurance Co. of Baltimore reproduction marker - bright brass and wood - 1970s vintage

Reproduction of a fire insurance house marker from the Associated Fireman's Insurance Company of Baltimore. Issued in 1848, one of the originals is in the collection of the Smithsonian. Brass plaque shows a firefighter blowing a horn and carrying a flaming torch as he runs towards the fire. Mark indicated the owner of the building had contracted with a private fire brigade should his building catch on fire.

SIZE 5 3/4" wide x 6 3/8" tall with 1 3/8" brass hoop hook

CONDITION Very good. No nicks or cracks in wood.
