Vintage 1950s Decorative Horse Wall Plate with Pewter Frame - Equestrian Decor - Crackle Glaze Ceramic Tile
This 1950s or 1960s vintage decorative wall plate has a round ceramic tile done in a crackle glaze with the portrait of a pair of horses, one black with a white blaze, the other chestnut with a white blaze, both wearing bridles. The tile, mounted on a pewter metal plate with a contoured rim arrives ready to hang with an attached plastic hanger on the back.
The pewter frame has an embossed angel touchmark on the back, suggesting it might be German. It's possible this was assembled in the US using an American tile and imported plate.
SIZE 8.5"
CONDITION Good vintage condition. The metal plate shows scratches and wear consistent with age and use. The crackle-glazed ceramic tile remains in very good condition with no chips or cracks noted.
