Floral roses painted tray - 1950s large serving tray
Large black metal serving tray painted with Bavarian tole flowers. Rectangular tray with cut corners, sides have a perforated design (hint, this can be used if you're hanging the tray on the wall as a memo board). Multicolor cottage roses and zinnias with classic double dipped brush technique with ivory. Gold stroke work decorations in the corners and by the handles.
These were a decorating trend in the 1950s, quality ranged from nice heavy duty trays to thinner decoration only pieces. This one is heavy duty, it can definitely handle whatever you pile on it to get from kitchen to table. Also excellent to protect your table, organize your buffet or brighten up a wall.
SIZE 24.25" x 17.75"
CONDITION Very good. Some scuffs on the black painted metal along edges on the back. Small chips on some of the flowers.
