Game night gift set - How to Win Friends and Entertain People - 1950s new old
Vintage 1950s game night gift set packaged to look like a book titled How to Win Friends and Entertain People. Paperboard box opens to reveal a "Preface to a Pleasant Time" with the lead "To the premise that there is too much work and too little pleasure in our complicated modern world, this book is solemnly dedicated." What's not to love about that. Open that again and you will find:
- Official Rules of Card Games, 49th edition, Hoyle Up-to-Date, 1955 paperback
- Two cello wrapped decks of playing cards with tax stamps
- Bridge scorepad
- Black and gold glass ashtray, possibly Houze art
- Ex LIbris bookplate
- black and gold pencil
SIZE Box measures 9.25" x 9.25" x 1.25"
CONDITION Very good. The box itself is showing some signs of age, there's a crunch in the top edge and some discoloring from aging of the paperboard. Everything else is more fun than you should find in a square this small.
