Illustrated Home Library Encyclopedia - vols. 1-22 - 1957 edition
Vintage 22 volume educational Illustrated Home Library Encyclopedia, 1957. Printed in the USA by the Educational Book Guild. Twenty volumes of alphabetical listings, 1 volume of the Hammond World Value and 1 volume is an index.
Red textured cloth binding with red and black lettering. Inside pages are black and white with numerous photographs and illustrations. Spot color in classic 1950s colors used throughout.
Illustrations are fantastic for artists. Books themselves add a tone of gravitas with a nod and a wink to any shelf. Use them vertically or turn some sideways to provide elevations for other decorative objects.
These may have been supermarket encyclopedias, in fact, if we would bet on it if we were the betting kind.
SIZE Each volume is 6" wide x 8 5/8" tall. The entire width of the books is 25"
CONDITION Very good. The books themselves were stored in a warm dry place, so they have appropriate aging of the paper but are clean. The bindings are tight, except for the atlas, which saw the most use. There is some wear to the corners and edges of the individual books.
This is a vintage item. It has been used and loved and it has a history. Please examine photos carefully and ask questions, as we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
