R. Heinisch buttonhole scissors with original set screw - antique
Antique R. Heinisch buttonhole scissors with set screw. From the R Heinisch Sons Works in Newark NJ.
Robert Heinisch's main product was his patent tailor shears, which were designed with a unique thumb rest and were praised for their durability and comfort. His shears were considered a significant improvement over English-made shears, enabling tailors to work more efficiently.
We found these scissors in a catalog on the J. Wiss and Sons website that credits it as being circa 1916. They are described as having nickeled handles and blades. At the time they were $14/dozen.(Photo show in the listing, will not be shipped.)
SIZE 4 3/4" long
CONDITION Very good for something that's over 100 years old. Set screw turns smoothly, and the scissors open and close easily. There are scratches, a few nicks on the handles and a little bit of rust.
