Japanese damascene brass place card holders - set of 8 - 1940s tableware

Set of 8 vintage 1940s damascene brass place card holders from Japan. Different intricate scene on each piece. Brass base the size of a penny with a clip behind the damascene panel to hold the place card in place. In a wooden gift box.

These pieces were likely made for the giftware market. There are some areas on the base that are discolored where the damascene panel is mounted on the base, see pix.

SIZE base is .75" diameter, 1" tall

CONDITION Very good. Gently used.
