Vintage Made in California USA Pottery Divided Shell Dish - Drip Glaze, Cream Sage Yellow - Mid Century Vintage

Large vintage mid-century made in California pottery divided serving dish in an asymmetrical shell or wing form with ribbed sides. The drip glaze is soft cream, pale sage green, buttery yellow and touches of amber. No two areas look quite the same.

The underside has unglazed rails and an incised script mark reading "Made in Calif. USA." This particular shape was popular with many makers. We can't attribute it to a specific maker as its unsigned. What's unmistakeable is its pure mid century aesthetic.

Unknown if this is a food safe dish, but it would make a lovely decorative piece on a sideboard or console. It could be lined with parchment and used for a charcuterie display worthy of sharing on social media. And for the love of all that's holy, don't stuff it in a dishwasher.

SIZE approx. 13" long x 7" wide x 2" high

CONDITION Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. The glaze has natural variation, including some matte patches inside the bowls.
