Pair of mid century vintage pottery ashtrays in a fabulous asparagus or moss green drip glaze. Both bear the Nanco label and are stamped Japan on the back, indicating they were made in the 1960s.
Ridged rest would hold 4 cigarettes total, but we also love this as a bedside trinket dish or to hold candy or nuts.

CONDITION Very good. One dish has a small chip on one of the curls at a leaf tip that is only visible on the back, a chip in the glaze also on the back, and a small chip near the cigarette rest. No flaws noted on the other dish.
