Vintage 1950s New York souvenir state plate. Center decal image has the New York State Thruway surrounded by:
- Niagara Falls
- Kaaterskill Creek Bridge
- Tappan Zee Bridge (the only proper name)
- a Savarin Restaurant
Plate captures the exhilaration of the early days of the interstate highway system. Thruways were new. Rest areas with restaurants were new.
White spoked plate with reticulations, gold and blue brushed paint on border. Made in Japan. Holes in the back rim and a string for hanging.
