1992 Laurel Burch Hand Signed & Dated Wood Kindred Spirits Cats Plaque Plus Cat Tag

Hand painted, hand signed and dated 1992 Laurel Burch double cat design. Colorful pink and purple double-cat design from her Kindred Spirits line is accented with teal, orange, and magenta with metallic gold eyes, ears and border accents. It has a curved back and two small fixed gold tack head posts mean this was likely used as a plaque for display. It could be converted to a pin, although the piece is arched so it would be tricky. Could possibly have been attached to a tote bag originally.

Copyright sign, signature and date are all handwritten in gold marker.

Second cat was originally "jewelry" on that would have hung from the handles of one of Laurel Burch's early 90s backpacks or tote bags. Cat is blue, red, gold, and black, complete with original cord hanger. Stamped signature.

These two pieces represent Laurel Burch's transitional period as she was transitioning from her artisan pieces to commercial pieces. The Kindred Spirits cats are handmade and artisan, the tote bag tag cat represents her growing commercial success.
