Set of 3 Alfred Meakin Fair Winds Brown 7" Bread and Butter Plates Staffordshire England

1960s Vintage set of 3 bread and butter plates by Alfred Meakin in the "Fair Winds" pattern. Made in Staffordshire, England, from the 1950s-1970s, this pattern features historical maritime scenes in brown transferware on a warm cream background.

These ironstone plates have a central image of the "U.S.S. Constitution engaging Chinese Junks, " with a geometric and floral border featuring the eagle crest, "E Pluribus Unum", "Canton Port 1830" and "New York Harbor 1830."

Based on the backstamp, these plates were made in the 1960s-1970s.

Alfred Meakin Fair Winds plates are lovely to add in as an accent dessert or bread plate, unless of course you already have the whole set and only need a few replacements because one of the uncles dropped a stack accidentally. 

SIZE 7"

CONDITION Very good vintage condition with expected small utensil marks. No chips, cracks or crazing. There is a black mark along the rim on one plate.
