For your mismatched pleasure, a set of six side plates, all white with pink roses and gilt gold accents. All the plates are probably from the late 1800s-1920s. Set includes:
- 2 handpainted Nippon plates with a double gold banding and handpainted roses. 6.25" diameter
- 2 Made in Austria plates with an inner gold band detail and pink roses dancing around the rim. 6" diameter.
- 2 unmarked, but the same as the previous plates, except they have a bonus rose in the middle. 6" diameter
The last four plates may have been made by Moritz Zdekauer.
These would blend nicely into a mismatched romantic set of china, very cottage, very sweet. They could stand alone as special plates to use when you have a few friends over for tea and cookies.
CONDITION Ver good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. There is minimal wear to the gold on the Nippon plates. One of the marked Austria plates has a mold defect on one side. It is fully glazed over and does not affect use.
These are vintage plates and they have a history. Please give the photos a good look and ask questions. We want you to love your side plates.
