Vintage souvenir ashtray from the historic Bellevue-Stratford hotel in Philadelphia, PA. Clear glass hexagon with a red decal on the bottom of the ashtray of the hotel name and B-S inside a laurel wreath with a ribbon. Six indentations for cigarettes around the rim.
The hotel was constructed in 1904. It was the site of a deadly outbreak of a respiratory illness during an American Legion conventions. This was eventually identified as being caused by bacteria in the air conditioning system and was named legionnaires disease.
SIZE 4.5" at widest x 1" tall
CONDITION Good. Scratches and wear marks on the bottom from use, but the decal is intact.
