Up for sale is a collectible vintage Halloween die-cut decoration by the Dennison Manufacturing Company — stock number H3977, believed to date to the 1950s based on the stock number range and printed pricing. A fantastic piece for the serious vintage Halloween collector, Dennison enthusiast, or anyone assembling an authentic mid-century Halloween display.
This large jointed scarecrow stands 56" tall when assembled and is made up of 8 separate die-cut cardboard pieces designed to be connected at the joints with brass paper fasteners (not included) so the figure could move and "dance" when displayed. Cheerful scarecrow has straw poking out of his colorful, shabby clothing, and a little mouse peeking out from the top of the his hat. Printed on one side. The piece was used, likely more than once, then disassembled and stored in its plastic package.
Also included is the original header card with the assembly instructions printed on the back. The header card shows a printed price of 98¢, with an original vintage price tag reading 77¢.
SIZE 56" tall when assembled. Disassembled in package approx 11.5" x 26"
CONDITION Very good used condition. Some wear at assembly points. Very little edge wear, no creasing or tearing. All 8 pieces present and accounted for, as well as original header.
