Vintage Doll Kit Mark Farmer - Bisque Porcelain Doll Parts - Gibson Girl Doll Head Arms Legs - Unfinished Doll Making Project OOAK Supply

$45.00

An interesting vintage unfinished doll-making project, featuring bisque porcelain components by the Mark Farmer Company of California.

This type of head was sold by Mark Farmer in the 1940s-1960s under their "Historical Ladies" or "Fashion Dolls" series, and appears to be meant to represent the Victorian or Edwardian era. Head has white-blond Gibson-girl styled hair, blue eyes and red lips.

Cloth body is cotton and looks hand and machine sewn. The maker's mark on the body indicates it was made by a small business in Oregon, possibly a home business, with an address that pre-dates zip codes. The porcelain legs are accented with painted-on black shoes and  blue bows, and have been attached to the body.

SIZE Upon completion: 17" tall

CONDITION Unfinished project. The cloth body appears either intentionally aged or lightly stained from materials and storage, with one leg seam open and needing restuffing. Porcelain head, arms and legs are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or damage noted except a small mark on one arm. The hair is loose in her bun, but yours would be too if you'd been sleeping on it for at least 60 years. Sold as an incomplete project as shown.
