Vintage 1960s Victorian/Regency courting couple needlepoint - hand stitched art
Decorative 1950s or 1960s needlepoint portraits of a Victorian or Regency era courting couple, beautifully hand-stitched and stretched onto plastic frames. Figures were stitched with a tan oatmeal background. Petit point stitching on the faces, hands, and his hat add detail.
Crinoline ladies and top hat gents were popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Companies like Bucilla produced kits with the faces and hands pre-stitched in petit point.
Add a frame if you want, or use the as they are. These romantic portraits make lovely cottagecore, traditional, or grandmillennial wall décor and are perfect for a gallery wall, bedroom, or sitting room.
SIZE 8.25" wide x 10.25" tall
CONDITION Very good. Clean, no noted flaws to the stitching. The plastic frames are cracked (hers in 2 places, his in 1), but still hold the fabric fairly taught. Variations in the stitch tension on the needlepoint as one might expect from a handmade product.
