Vintage 1940s 2-piece porcelain vanity/dresser set with yellow roses in shades of cream, opalescent yellow and green.
First, a covered trinket box with decorated with a hand-applied, sculpted spray of glossy yellow roses and green leaves, finished with gilt trim. Lid fully lifts off, with a raised inner lip on the underside so it stays securely inside the box opening, A hand-painted "H" appears on the underside of the lid which is likely a decorator's mark.
Then there's the companion rectangular pin tray with a single matching rose and leaf accent in one corner.
SIZE Box measures approximately 3.25" x 5.25". Tray measures approximately 2.5" x 4.25".
CONDITION No chips noted on any rose petals or leaf tips. Some rough/uneven texture is present at a few edges of the flowers; these appear to be glazed over and is consistent with the hand-application process at manufacture rather than damage.
Undersides of both pieces had felt protectors applied, so no manufacturer's backstamp is visible. The felt on the trinket box has mostly worn off but the adhesive remains.
