Vintage Towle Ballerina Hippopotamus Angel Music Box - We Wish You a Merry Christmas - 1981 - House Hippo

Hippopotamus angels turning on a "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" music box will dance their way onto your house hippo wish list. Boy and girl hippos have red ballet shoes, green tights, and pink tops with red trim, and she has a pink bow on her head.

Made of lightweight composite resin or paper mâché, it appears to be hand painted. White plastic base used to wind up the music box. Music works are marked Sankyo Japan, a well respected maker of fine music boxes. Base is marked 1981 TOWLE, made in Korea.

CONDITION Very good. No nicks or chips that we noticed. Well stored, well cared for, clean. Tones of music box are crisp, but the tune plays VERY slowly. Light water stain on the cardboard base, but no damage from it.
