$35.00

Vintage 1960 souvenir plate from Wiltz, Luxembourg in delft blue on white ceramic, by renowned Belgian maker Boch Frères, a numbered limited edition No. 50.

This unique souvenir plate features a central image of Wiltz, depicted as a picturesque European town, and the coat of arms of the city of Wiltz. The wide band surrounding the image includes the phrases "Capitale des Ardennes" (Capital of the Ardennes) and "Ville du Genêt" (Town of the Broom Flower), decorated with flourishes and stylized broom plant motifs, broom flowers being a traditional regional emblem.

The backstamp confirms this plate's history and provenance:

  • "Syndicat d'Initiative 1960, Tirage Limité No. 50" — indicating a numbered limited edition issued through Wiltz's local tourism office in 1960
  • A round maker's mark reading "BOCH Fes La Louviere" with "Made in Belgium" and "Fabrication Belge," confirming production by the historic Boch Frères ceramics house of La Louvière, Belgium (est. 1841)
