Fish cabinet plates - a pair - D&C France, L. Bernardaud & Co. - antique 1900s plates
Pair of antique hand painted fish cabinet plates from the 1900s. Made by R. Delinières & Co. which was taken over by L. Bernardaud et Cie, so the plates bear both marks. Made and sold for Higgins & Seiter, a New York retailer of fine glass and china.
Plates have gilt edge and sweet little floral and beaded swag border. Both painted fish images are signed by Revel.
SIZE 9" diameter
CONDITION No chips or cracks in the porcelain. The brown fish has a paint chip in his eye. There are some horizontal scratches across the seaweed on the plate with the green fish, which we have assessed and exchanged animated comments amongst the team about whether they are scratches or intentionally part of the design.
